About this site

Starting back in 2007, I documented every dead end that became the guitar model Boden and the brand .strandberg* in the open, under a Creative Commons license, on a scrappy WordPress build-log, during my recovery after burning out in the IT industry.

What drove this process was not a desire to build a brand or a business, but to learn new things, and interact with other people. It snowballed into something pretty significant, and I quit my day job in 2015 and .strandberg* guitars are now played and loved worldwide!

I'm doing it again — In March 2026, I burned out in the MI industry... So as part of my recovery, here are my raw notes, unfinished ideas, and more, with an open invitation for you to participate. Some ideas may see the light of day as .strandberg* products, others may lead to new collaborations, or just whither away.
